Ground support truss
Ground support truss structures are temporary freestanding frameworks designed to safely support suspended equipment without relying on existing buildings or overhead structures. Widely used in commercial film production, and tV, these systems provide a stable platform for lighting, scenery, and other production equipment.
Unlike roof or building mounted rigging, ground support systems transfer loads directly to the ground through vertical towers. Their modular design allows them to be configured in a variety of sizes and shapes to suit the specific requirements of a production, making them highly versatile for both studio and location work.
The safe design, and assembly of ground support structures require careful planning, accurate load calculations, and adherence to engineering specifications. Every component, from truss sections and connection hardware to lifting devices, ballast, and bracing plays a critical role in the overall stability of the system. Environmental factors such as wind, ground conditions, and suspended loads must also be considered throughout installation and operation.
A thorough understanding of ground support principles is essential, and a great service that we offer to our clients, along with CAD design drawings of the structures.
